County of San Mateo Airports’ staff is excited to announce that on-site tours at San Carlos Airport (SQL) are now available. Adults and school-age children are invited to visit SQL to learn up close how their local airport supports the community.
Whether you can join us as part of a school field trip or an outing with friends or a civic group, airport tours are suitable for adults and children ages 6 and older. Included in this fun and informative experience is this general tour itinerary*:
- Meet at the Hiller Aviation Museum
- Begin the tour inside Hiller’s Boeing 747 aircraft
- Hiller personnel briefing about upcoming events
- Visit the airport observation platform and listen to Air Traffic Control Tower operations
- Learn about the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicle
- Visit a flight school with a briefing from a flight instructor
- Take pictures inside an aircraft
- Visit the terminal building and gift shop
- Grab a bite at the Sky Kitchen restaurant (open daily 7am-3pm)
